My Body Is Odd
After writing a quick post talking about how I haven’t lost weight this week, I woke up this morning to find my weight down 3 pounds. I started around 212.5 lbs and have dropped now to 209.5.
I know, I know, I shouldn’t weight myself every day. But I wanted to know what dropping my carbs would do to my weight daily. There are a lot of testimony to losing 5-10 lbs a week for the first 2 weeks on a low carb diet.
I’m trying to find the line of carbs where I lose weight, which this week means trying < 150 grams of total carbs and < 50 grams of sugar. If my scale is correct, then I AM losing weight without having to drop to Atkins-like levels, which is what I was hoping.
I’m going to lighten up one day this weekend and have some pizza and soda. I’m a big believer that you should give yourself a light day once a week, if only to keep your sanity. Besides, I have about 10 cans of soda sitting in my pantry that I refuse to throw away, but I don’t have to hurry to get rid of them.
So 3 pounds in a week is terrific. I realize a lot of that is probably water weight, but it is encouraging none-the-less. I think I’ll stick to the plan and drop to < 140 carbs and < 45 grams of sugar a day next week. Another 3 pounds would be wonderful, putting my back down to 206, my lowest weight in a while.
