First Week of Low Carbs
I am now finishing my first week of eating less than 50 grams of sugar and less than 150 grams of carbs. It’s actually gone pretty well and has been much easier than trying to restrict calories, even if calorie restriction has been a side-effect of eating fewer carbs. Racializing Muslims
Not too long ago I read an article about how we in the west are racializing Muslims. What the article contended was that by attributing certain traits (usually in a negative context) to them in the media, i.e. how they dress, darker skin, different language, turbans and veils, that we essentially treat muslims as a race, thus people who denigrate muslims can be considered racist. After finishing the book “Why We Get Fat”, I decided to try a low carb diet. I needed a baseline before I set any goals, though.
